Disable Mic on Speakerphone 9600

Is there a way to disable the mic when the speakerphone is activated? Specifically on the 9611 phone.

Apart from opening the phone and use a pair of scissors?

Not that I'm aware of.

Don't you just press the Mute button? - and now tell us the full description of what you actually want - mic off by default at the start of a call? mic permanently disabled? incoming speech through the speaker but outgoing through the handset mic? I suspect there's a call scenario that you didn't describe.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
