I have a Sol2.5.1 machine and I need to disable user logins for a period of time. Does anyone know of a way to do this without emptying a copy of the passwd file? I need to do a massive file transfer (120G) to another system as part of a migration, and I don't want users messing me up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Will,

Being root create a file called nologin in the /etc directory.
# touch /etc/nologin

see man nologin
