Is this possible.

that's a good one, lol. i submitted this too early in the morning. i meant right click. i'm trying to secure student workstations so that they can't right click on start and go to exlplore. sorry bout the mixup.

I dont really think disabling right-click will solve the
issue, they can always access explorer through the Start
menu, (that is if you have not removed the shortcut from the
Programs Menu!!) Even if you have, they can still go into
My Computer and you have basically the same thing...
There is no real way to prevent this, except using the
system policy editor, you can choose what apps will not
be able to run on the system, eg explorer.exe :)

Try this:

To eliminate the right click on the desktop:

Start Regedit
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer
Add a DWORD and give it a name of NoViewContextMenu
Give it a value of 1
Reboot

Good luck

To eliminate the right click on the taskbar:

Start Regedit

Start Regedit
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer
Add a DWORD and give it a name of NoTrayContextMenu
Give it a value of 1
Reboot

this did work for the right click on desktop, so thanks a bunch for that. but, is there a way to take explore option out of start button, because they can still right click on that and get to explore.

I explained it in your other thread.
Have you even tried it? Cheers,
Jim
