I am trying to diagnosis a personal directory display issues with one of my customers on an 1140 phone. The user is claiming that the order of the entries has changed since we pushed out new firmware. I am trying to recreate the issue by installing another phone build the directory and the do a firmware update and see if it changes.

In order for me to do this I need to be able to plug in a phone and not have it update to the latest firmware. Does anyone know if this can be done and how? Or if you have any other ideas let me know. I didn't see anything in the Sig Server Help commands that gave me a enable or disable prompt or in EM. I am on a 4.5 box.

Thanks in advance.

Might be wrong, but I think once you get the latest and greatest firmware, when your new IP set is connected to the network, it will hit your sig, and download the latest and greatest as well.

I think this might work...depends on configuration,

Select and reload/distribute the previous version of firmware in Element Manager to the appropriate elements in the node as applicable for your test.
Create test phone and register with old firmware. Create directory as required. Once completed reload and distribute the latest and greatest firmware in element manager. Reset test phone and let the upgrade occur. During this process as long as existing phones do not reregister they should not be affected by the firmware change.
This is cleared to vicious rumour only ....

Firmware will NOT make any difference to the order that the entries are displayed. The phone is simply displaying what it is being told to display from the "personal directory" application which actually resides on your "signaling server". It is NOT stored locally on the phone.
