Disable cd permissions

Is there anyway to diasble cd permissions for an individual user.

I would like to make it so that certain users do not have the right to change to another directory as well as list the items in the current directory. They have to stay in the home directory.

Where are they logging in that you want to restrict this? Their Linux workstations? FTP server?

If your using ProFTPd, use the 'DefaultRoot ~' directive in the proftpd.conf file. If your using Wu-FTPd, maybe someone else can help you because I don't use Wu.
