I'm trying to keep my AA VM extensions from dialing 0, and other 2 digitit extensions (19 for example). My documentation sez that list 7 has extensions listed in them for this purpose. Or I can build other lists and give that list to other extensions.
I checked my Disallow 7 and 0 and 0 is there as well as 7 1 etc are designated. I check the Disallowto for list 7 and the extensions match my VM. But when I call in from outside or 770 inside I can still call those extensions. I can't make this work on either a Magix 3.0 or a Legend 11.0.
What am I missing?

I'm not sure what you mean by restrict your voicemail from dialing extentions like 19 or 0.

The voicemail has selector codes (1 thru 9) that govern what extention ranges you can dial from the autoattendant. The default dial 0/time out action is to transfer to the call answer service operator - usually extention 10 or wahtever ext is lower. So - if you dial 0 from the autoattendant - it will ring the operator phone. If the selector code defaults are left in place - selector codes 1 thru 4 are set for "direct extention transfer" - meaning you can dial any extention number starting with a 1,2,3 or 4 - as long as that extention has a voicemail box setup. If you disable transfer restrictions under system parameters - yuou can dial any extention number - whether or not it has a mailbox.

The Tables 0 and 7 that you mentioned have to do with restricting the voicemail ports (extentions) from getting an outside line. The voicemail ports are automatically "outward restricted" when you set up the voicemail calling group (770) as an Integrated Voicemail Group - under Group Type.

So if you want to prevent callers dialing an extention directly from the AA - remove (delete) the selector code that the extention number starts with. If your extentions are numbered from 10 to 24, for example - you would have to delete selector codes 1 and 2 from the autoasttendant menu.

The DISALLOW LISTS are for OUTSIDE NUMBERS, not inside numbers.

What are you trying to do?

Are you trying to keep callers to your system, when answered by the AUTO ATTENDANT to not be able to dial 1X or ZERO?

The boss doesn't want extension 19 to recieve calls from the outside, but still wants the extension to function normally when dialed inside. The call flow is all outside calls are answered by the AA. Callers then enter the extension number they want to go to.
I know selector codes but don't want to eliminate all extensions just 19. As I read the description it sez list 7 is set to block calls to 0, 10 and the like from the VM extensions. And it indicates that individual extensions can be disallowed calling to other extensions or outside numbers up to 12 digits.
The reference I'm reading is off the Avaya site.
When setting up the system should the vm extensions have anything done to them? 770 is set for vm and the normal stuff.

As I said, the DISALLOW LIST is for OUTGOING CALLS, such as TOLL CALLS to the OPERATOR, as in ZERO (0), and International calls starting with One Zero (10).

THE DISALLOW LIST HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH INSIDE CALLS - PERIOD - WHAT SO EVER.

Now that I know what you are trying to do, here is your answer:

Change extension 19 to a number that can not be dialed by a SELECTOR CODE, and that will fix your problem.

You would not want to do away with the SELECTOR CODE 1 choice of going to an extension, 'cause that would stop people from being able to transfer to extensions 10 to 18.

So, look at your extension range, and renumber 19 to something that you Voice Mail has no selector code option for.

As far as "have anything done to them....", depending on the release of Legend/Magix, once you put the extensions in an INTEGRATED VOICE MAIL GROUP, they are SO VERY RESTRICTED.

But only for OUT GOING CALLS.

I hope this helps....

What voice mail are you using? If it is Merlin Messaging, just be sure that Transfer Restrictions is set to ON, and DON'T make a mailbox or transfer only mailbox for Ext. 19

One thing I forgot, considering your issue with ZERO.

You can change your DIAL ZERO Time Out to something other than transfer to the Operator.

That is, if they DIAL ZERO, or just TIME OUT (By dialing NOTHING) they get the DIAL ZERO TIME OUT option.

There are several choices, depending on the Voice Mail you are using as to where you can steer the DIAL ZERO TIME OUT.

Good Morning and Thank you for the replies. Merlin Man, I'm slow but I do catch on eventually. Your reply indicating that disallow only applies to outbound outside calls has made it thru my extremely focused interpretation of my documentation. I locked on to the prefix codes as extensions instead of LD prefixes. I do apologize. I'm over it.
I am using Merlin Messaging and removed the mail box for extension 19 and as per TT Tommy stated MM sez can't transfer to extension 19 and returns the caller to the AA.
That's a good fix.
Again thanks to all.
