Hi could some one please explain the way to set up DISA?

Also, what capacities does DISA have, is it restricted to a certain amount of channles etc? I've never set one up before, and we're getting one soon!!

Cheers.

I think the way is first to set the DISA number in Number analysis and then initiate an Auth code as the passcode.

Something like:-

NANSI:NUMTYP=DI,NUMSE=****; (Where **** is the DDI extn no to dial)

AUCOI:AUTH=****,CILCOD=????,CAT=?; (Where **** is your password and ???? is usually the exten no, and ? is the cat.

Then dial the DDI number and when you get Dial Tone dial *72 code#

then dial the number you want.

Hope this helps.

There is also an ASPAC to skip the auth code . But then you need to have defined a minimum category.

RODAI:ROU=X,TYPE=TL11,VARC=00000022,VARO=00000815,VARI=00000680;
ROEQI:ROU=X,TRU=x-x&&x-x,EQU=x-x-xx-x;

VARC=00000002 if we have TLU44/4
VARC=00000022 if we have TLU75 or TLU44/8

A word of caution about DISA, think of it in terms of your company cheque book. You wouldn't leave it full of signed blank cheques in the lobby of your building for just about anybody to help themselves. DISA should be treated like the cheque book, you keep it locked up tight so that nobody can gain unauthorised access.
You need to consider exactly why you need to program DISA and administer frequent authority code changes. It only takes one leak or lucky guess and then your next telco bill will have a lot of zeroes before the decimal point....m110d

Cheers guys, it's all useful information.

Does anyone know how many channels Disa can use?

I don't quite understand the question 'how many channels Disa can use' , I have used DISA alot mainly to dial into a site and check if the private network DEST's are working OK . And then I use an ordinary trunk line as a normal call. I dont quite see why rrmagno posts a ROCAI/RODAI setup.
Perhaps I am missing something about DISA , someone tell me what please ?

duvel if it is set up on a DDI it can use any of the incoming circuits(channels).
Hi ButtonIT
I use several they are very usful but as m110d says be very careful about how you set them up and access that you give them. Mine can only dial internal numbers and ABB's set up a special call class for them with the total number of digits limited. You say you are getting one soon so get whoever is setting it up to limit numbers. Test it carefully yourself once it is installed Think of how YOU can get FREE calls with this number
all the best
