We are planning to install a Direcway satellite internet service at our home. Direcway uses a USB connection. Is there some way to couple the USB jack to a Linksys ethernet router? We already have four computers and a LinkSys Etherfast Cable/DSL Router.

No.

There is a newer directway device DW4020 or something similar that is a routing appliance and doesn't require a pc. Your linksys router will be redundant.

there is another work around here... have an ethernet card.. if you have one already. do this make your computer a gateway. connect your usb line to you computer and connect the computer using the your ethernet card to the wan port of the router... and configure the router just like a cable connection.. and connect the 3 other computers to the routers switch ports....

Just try this.. it would not cause your harm to just try...

Good Luck! :)

WirelessZero,

That will not solve the problem.

smylies, how is this different/more helpful than the link posted by Dream4321 above?

sorry..overlooked on it...it's just the same as you can see

I am missing the joke. Neither link resolves to a valid web page.
