I desperately need some advice on Avaya IP Office Directory. I need to be able to keep the Avaya directory list up to data and in sync with my customer's "bespoke" database (I am DB developer so I can handle all the export side of things, it is the Avaya Directory Services that are causing me problems). Using simple csv file import is very cumbersome particularly as I can find no way to delete all the entries that have been imported except by deleting them one by one, very tedious when there are a couple of thousand entries. I managed to get the Avaya DS to communicate with AD but because they are using Small Business Server there are problems getting Powershell to work on SBS Active Directory and I have been advised that it is not a good idea to use AD for this purpose (not sure how much of a problem it is SBS does have a reputation for not liking anything to be done other than with its wizards). I then set up a copy of ApacheDS LDAP server but I cannot get IP office to connect to it, the problem seems to be that ApacheDS uses the DN to log on and IP Office needs a username. It would be really helpfull if I could find someone who has experience using a LDAP server other than MS Active Directory to sync with IP Office. I am still baffled as to why Avaya has apparently made this so difficult I would have thought that it was a feature that many customers would have needed.
Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated
