Hi All,

In my system i have some 40 users and their names are starts by A,B,C.

From my phone if i want to dial a Person called Charry, i am trying to search his name from Phone directory by pressing NumberKey"2" 2 times(to start names from letter 'C'). But i am not getting the names list starting by "C".

It is only showing the First letter of the corresponding key, and i need to scroll down towards C.
eg.
2-A, 3-D, 4-G, 5-J, 6-M, 7-P, 8-T, 9-W.

Is there any config fault in the system?? or in the Phone??

How can i search other letters?

pls help

It's predeictive, just spell the name with single button presses, no need to go for the exact letter in each case by hitting the key 2/3 times :)

If i am having 100 users with their names starts from A, how can i reach a name from letter " B / C ".

Should i need to scroll down always??

No, you just go for the next letter in the name as stated above.

For "Kevin" I would press 5 once then 3 once and then 8 once, the system will narrow it down by possible matches. You'll notice I didn't have to press 5 twice to get to the K I just went for the next letter.....it's predictive :)

100 names starting with A? Was that part of the recruiting plan, get A people? [smile]

Here's two examples of how much you have to dial to overcome any similarity between a name starting with A and B:

Abdul: 2-2-3-8-5
Bafun: 2-2-3-8-6

Kind regards

Gunnar

But if all your users are configured like:

First Name, Last Name

you are only able to search for the first name.
Or is there an option to search for both?

Read the first answer again. Just type more than one character and the filtering will automatically start only showing matches.

So for "Charry" just dial 242 and it will already have filtered down to just names beginning 'Cha', 'Aga, 'Bic' etc. The more you type the fewer remaining matches.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Yes but if your username is Jon Doe you can only search for Jon (5 6 6 ...) not for Doe (3 6 3 ...)

The zero key is a space, examples:
Jonh Doe = 564603
John Tucker = 564608
Konrad Wells = 566723093557
Or

Achmed Ibrahim = 234633043
Achmed Inshallah = 234633046

If you want reverse searching i.e surname first then change all the names to be that way around... :)

or create a VM module you dial into and make it do the work for you.

Yap thats the problem.

The customer wants to store them the one way (for the name on the display) and search the other way (because no one knows all first names) :-D

This also affects the search behaviour on the softconsole. Here you can only search for first or last name too (depending on the way you store the names in the config.)

Thank you all..

I got the right info from you.
