Directory on C: drive called ".swt"

Hi there is a directory on my laptop's C: called ".swt." May I safely delete it or will doing so mess up something. Thanks for your feed back.
 
Do you use the Eclipse IDE?

That extension is mentioned as being related to that IDE:

Not sure if it's related or not, since you say it's a directory.

Discussion about similar in this forum thread seems to point to the same thing, possibly (or else a virus infection):

Thanks for your reply. Based on the second link in your post I deleted the directory. I have not noticed any haywire stuff as a result, yet. Thanks; great to see you are a believer. Thanks again.
 
Did you reboot after deletion? That's where you would normally get an error if the registry was referencing that folder or a program needed it.

I did end up rebooting eventually, but didn't encounter any problems.
