II have directories on my HD that I can't delete or RD them.
When I checked the log files on my FTP I noticed that the back door was open. So, I fixed that problem. But, when I searched more I found that there were directories made. But I am unable to delete them.
I have seen acouple of posts about this problem some time back.
This is what I saw in my log file when the person made the directory(s).
"MKD com1+/+/"
When I try to delete this directory, it gives me the error.
"Cannot delete com1 : cannot find the specified file.
Make sure you specify the correct path and Filename."

How do I get ride of this ? Bang...

Did you check the attributes?
Are you logged in with local administrative rights.
Sometimes rebooting can help.

If not the last thing I would try is deleting any reference of that file in the Registry.

I am logged in with administrative rights, and I have rebooted the machine 2 times hench finding this little problem.

I have also got done checking the registry for any reference to these Directories and no use.

Go to the server with the folder.
Check the permissions on the folder.
I guess you can log on as a user that is a Domain Admin.
Do you have full permissions? both shared directory permissions and NTFS permissions?

Give yourself full access for both.

If that doesn't work try Safe Mode.
If that doesn't work, I am guessing it is an NTFS partition you will have to find an NTFS boot disk and delete it through the command prompt. If it is FAT32 then just stick in a Win98 Startup Disk.

Hope one of these things can help. If not you might need one of those RegCleaners that delete unused files.
