I've inherited a project to edit. I have the original dir's but not the final versions.

Unfortunately, the author (who was fully paid, BTW), is nowhere to be found. This may be a touchy subject for some - but ....

... is there anyway to 'unlock' a dxr?

I have most of the movies (dirs) and if push comes to shove I can link to the two (big) movies (dxrs) that are locked. But I'd rather fix some of the outdated phone numbers, etc in them without having to reconstruct the !@#$#% movies(s). B-(

You can extract the visual content but not the code, someone has posted how (do a keyword search on dxr).

Lesson here is no payment till ALL editiable source files are received, I have seen this too many times, even from very well known companies. Once I have the army come in for some edits, they had paid $1000s over normal price so they could edit stuff later on and everything was protected. There wasn't even any code worth protecting!

I found an app that opens it all except the lingo (of which there is damned little). It saves it in v7 though. I'm trying to do this in v6.5 to avoid having to remake/code the nav buttons. There are only two movies that I care about anyway.

Had I been in charge of the project at that time you can bet I would have insisted on unlocked files prior to final payment.

Thnx. :)
