I never noticed this before using the message button to DVM transfer. But, wanted to see if this is working as designed.

Customer is using visual vm and message buttons used to access vm.

a call comes in and is answered and they want to do a direct vm transfer so they press message button and either user directory or dial extension number.
The issue is that it leaves the mic open until transfer is complete. I never notice it before and it may be working as designed but I would think it should act like any other transfer and put caller on hold until transfer is completed..

Any information is appreciated.

It is working as designed. You can continue talking to the calling party until you press select.

Well I never noticed that, but it shouldn't be a problem (as long as you're not muttering "oh just leave message idiot" or worse whilst you do the transfer).

With a normal transfer you potentially need to hear/talk to the transfer destination before completing so silencing the caller is necessary. But in this case you don't need to talk or listen to the voicemail system as part of the process.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Transfer to Voicemail
You can use the Message key to transfer a call to another user or group's voicemail mailbox.
1. With a call connected, press the Message key. You can still continue talking.
2.Dial the extension number of the user or group and press Select.
