Hi All,

At a client I have programmed the phones to make outgoing calls using through the main number of the company by pressing 9 and number.
Apart from this a few users (16x) have their own direct numbers also pstn lines.
I have programmed the direct numbers by using line appearance on one of the buttons of the J139, which can receive incoming calls without any problems.
When I press the button of the direct line and press 9 and the number, I here the provider system saying the number is incorrect.
If I press the direct number button by entering the dialed number with 9, it will say incompatible

How can I let them also use the direct line to make calls?

Thank you in advance

When you are on a Line Appearance, you don't dial the 9, because you're on the actual dial tone. Just the telephone number that would come after the 9.

You can also give each POTS lines their own Outgoing Group ID, and for each user with a private line, add a User Short Code of 8N / Dial / N / (Line Group of their private line).

They then dial 9+Number for the Main Company number, and 8+Number for their Private line.

Hi TouchToneTommy,

I did the test, but when I dial with the 8+number, I still here the number you dialed is incorrect.
It seems that the 8 is being sent.
Should I add the 8N in the shortcodes also?

Hi Zero6, As TouchToneTommy explained, when you use line appearance you shouldn't then be dialling/using shortcodes as you have already seized the outside line. Either the user dials 8 or 9 which using the shortcode method will route via the correct line, or you use line appearance and dial the number without any shortcode.

Thanks, Tim

Line 4 is my Private Line. I assigned Line Group 4 to it for both Incoming and Outgoing calls:

Incoming calls on Line Group 4 ring to my extension:

I have a User Short Code so that when I dial 8 followed by a telephone number, the call goes to ARS 51:

ARS 51 receives the digits (after the 8) and sends them out on Line Group 4 (which is my Private Line 4):

If I dial 9 followed by a telephone number, the SYSTEM Short Code of 9N / Dial / N / 50:Main still comes into play, sending the digits after the 9 out on Line Group 0 (the rest of the Analog lines)
