I have a DID line redirected to an Internal Extension. The Internal Extension is working a receptionist phone for a small internal division. I have the Internal EXT able to allow Direct EXT dial but only if you go thru the Voice Mail Greeting and do the key presses to allow the dial in – PRESS # (to send recorded message) then, PRESS *T (to allow the EXT dial) then, EXT Number# (to ring desired EXT) I would like to have the Direct Dial right from the Voice Mail Greeting. Is this possible to configure?

Thank You,

EdDuggan

yes just make a transfer action from the menu and make sure under the transfer/specific tab enter the $key

I will try this and get back to you on the process. I am at a remote location today and need to be at the actual site to make changes

I am back at my Office. I have looked at the IP Office Manager. I am seeing no TRANSFER within the menu.

Maybe a bit of background is in order. I am just the Server IT guy and somehow inherited the Voice system...with no training and as big a Newbie as it comes within this arena. Here is what I am actually trying to achieve;

I would like to be able program an EXT to allow a sort of 1 key to dial a specific EXT. So, the Voice greeting would be, “I am not available but to reach the Boss dial 1, to reach IT dial 2….” Can this be programmed on the AVAYA 5410 or has to be programmed by Admin on IP Office Manager

this would be done through voicemail, what type do you have

joe2938,

I cannot Thank You enough. Wish I could return the favor.

LOL!!! I will work on that for you, sir!! So, I implemented the changes and BOOM....it works. However, now when I call the main line, there is no recorded message to hear, BUT the keypress does redirect me to the proper EXT. It appears that something is missing now.

you need to record the greeting on the menu prompt, study the guide I gave you as it's all in there on how to do that.

Gotta love you tube and Google for sure, and thanks for the pink!
