Not too familiar with the T-1 card.
Telco and client are looking to drop the POTS lines going into the system and changing the DID trunks coming into the T-1 into DIOD trunks.
Would I be able to utilize these trunks for outgoing call volume on the Partner since they are looking to drop the POTS lines?

Yes, as long as the signaling is E&M with DTMF it should work. Remember the DS1 on the Partner is limited to 16 channels only. It's a good idea to keep a couple of POTS for backup, or for more capacity...

Thanks for the signaling info.
I wish they were keeping some POTS, but they only see $$ instead of service affecting issues.
Thanks again.

also i am pretty sure that you can only use the last 16 channels and not the first 8.

Kevin is correct, only channels 9-24 can be assigned for voice channels.

The T1 module will NOT support ISDN-PRI, ISDN-BRI, Ground Start emulation, Loop Start emulation, DID emulation, S56 Data emulation, “Point-to-Point” T1 network, or PRI Tandem Network.

Point-to-Point" T1 network WILL work if you configure your network correctly to meet the requirements of the application with in the limitations of the Partner ACS.

If Tripoth reads the Partner ACS documentation, it covers all this stuff on DS1.

I love the Partner T-1 card. If you are dealing with a Clec, like TW telecom,Paetec or XO, they can configure each channel to work like you would like it to work, the Lec won't provide service options like 2 way DID.
I have a car dealer that has some channels set for e&m wink/wink that fuction like 2 way DID trunks. They also have some channels set for e&m auto in/out that fuction and program like CO lines, even provide hunting/rollover. The only downside is no CID on Partner T-1. Good Luck

In California, Pacific Bell offers the service, and it is called SUPERTRUNK!

It is a DS1 from the Co switch to the prem, no crap in between to screw things up with IP crap! They can be configured as one-way or two-way channels with DID numbers, and there are other options available, but not CID. It is provisioned from the Trunk side of the switch, so it has no CID capability, since that format was never designed for the trunk side of a CO switch.
