Hello All,
I need help or some information on how to set up dining coursing or item timing
or both . I maybe missing something but my courses are set up and the site hi-lites
the order and hit the course button which is seems to be set correct but all food
hits the kitchen KDS at the same time ...If I can get some answer of any kind that would be helpful
and maybe save my job ...

Are you trying to seprate timing on courses? Ie appy, then dinner. Or are you trying to figure out how to time items? Ie burger, salad

Well I am trying to do both but at least one or the other... send the apps first then it auto fires after 3 mins. the entrees ..
but in sending the entrees I would also like to have it send a well done burger first and hold the salad for a certain amount of time then auto fire that. I will take one or the other at this point .

For courses we use a manual bump of the course to start the next course You will need you setup a item class (lets say appetizer) and link it to the appetizer course. You will the need to set the class to override the menu print group. The server then modifys an appys with this mod. They will display as the appy course. Once that course gets bumped the main course will fire onto the kds screens. Have never played with the course timing feature but i do see it.
For individual items use the preperation time on the menu item main screen. Say a well done burger is 12 minutes set the timer to 12. The salad takes four minutes to make set the timer to 4. The burger will show on the kds screen. The salad will show 8 minutes later. I beleive to make this work the screens need to be set as prep screens...not expo. Also if i remember you need to reload the kds screens after making these changes

Just a heads up as well that you usually need to restart the KDS controller on the server for any new major KDS programming changes to take effect.

Thank you Wildbar ... I have it now where the server rings in the first round (app ,salad , ect) then puts in the next course ( they call it Round2) then he/she sends it ... then the first course I.E apps or salads come up on the KDS screens then 3 minutes later the "round 2" course automatically fires ... what I am now having a issues is the item timing itself ... so let say Wings is the first round and a burger well done and a burger rare is the next round , server puts it in all correct , it should be the Wings come up and 3 minutes later the burger well done should come up then a minute or so later the rare pops up on the screen so that the burgers are done at the same time .I have the coursing working and I have the item time for each menu item in place but in this case the wing are good but the burgers pop up at the same time yes 3 minutes later but together...I am not sure what I have set or not set to get this to work as I am told it will do this .

How do you ring in your burgers? If you are modifying them to rare/well done etc. you need to time the mod and not the burger..
So if the server rings in a burger and then modifys it well done the burger time needs to be blank and the well done time is 10 minutes or whatever works for you. The rare would be 4 minutes

Wildbar, how does that work if you use the same Temp Mods for other items that may or may not have the same timing effect of say 10 minutes on a well done burger? If the well done set at 10 minutes does not work across the board for all items requesting Temps; do you just create another group of Temp Mods and use which ever Temp works best?

Yes that should be the quickest and cleanest way. With two mod groups...ie steak temp, burger temp
