what is it that i don't get?

thanks for any help

Cj: If you're going to do this you'll need a reference to MS DAO 3.6 object library:
In VB: Tools-References & click it "On". You may have to move its priority up or down to compile...Should work! Gord

Hi!

If you by this refer to the dim-statement, as in
Dim db as Database, you'll need to either start using the new syntax (ADO), or, in the Tools-References (VBA-editor), check the Microsoft DA0 3.N Object Library.
