I was trying to use the following line of code in a vb program:

Dim reportDb As CRPEAuto.Database

but I don't have the correct component on my machine. Do I need the Developers Version? I am currently using Crystal Reports Professional V8.0 with VB6.

Ultimately what I am attempting to do is base a report on an ado recordset that I retreive from either SQL Server or MsAccess. I was following a post made by Member 32012 in thread766-83671.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, you need the Developer version.

And in the long run you would be better off using the RDC technology that the CRPE stuff.

Thanks Balves...I am trying to download the developer version right now.

It might be too late to ask, but is the developer version the only version where I can pass in an ado recordset???
