But wait it's not as easy as it sounds.
There are two different switches connected via IP trunks.
On the fly these execs have two office and go between either at a moments notice. They want their extension number and voicemail to follow at all times.

I have done something similar but can't remember now how I accomplished it.

HELP!

Have you tried PSA (personal station access)?

I have something similar - the CEO has an office in each facility. We use 4610SW IP phones, so I put one in his main office set up as normal, and the second office has one where the first phone's extension is added as call appearances on buttons 1 thru 3.

What about using EC500? I'm sure they have a cell phone, then their station can follow them anywhere, not just between the two offices.

No. It has to be a desk phone and it has to be their extension and name show up when they call or recieve a call.
These are EXECUTIVES with a capital E.

I'm thinking IP phones does anyone have a simple, VERY SIMPLE cheat sheet on logging in road warrior mode with ipsoftphone?

if you have Expert Agent Selection, set them up as agents. They log in at any phone and that phone takes on their presets. voice mail lights may be a problem

NitramTELEBOY,

you can set up an ip hardphone at the remote site and bridge its appearances on the primary phone.
or, alternatively, you can set up two ip phones, one at the main site and another at the remote site and have them re-login each time they are used.

Executives (especially the ones with CAPITAL LETTERS) rarely can be bothered to log into anything if they don't think that they have to. Because of this, I'd go with m4ilm4n's suggestion.

Susan, you are absolutely correct in regards to the alphaExecs not wanting to waste time remembering a login process.
Bridging doesn't help cause it's less about them recieving calls and more about when they make a call that it shows who they are. (You know, if it comes from my VP I may not answer but if it comes from the EVP or Press or COO you da_ANG well better answer before that first ring is complete!!!)

Anyways I'm thinking about IP hardphones but I then have to put each ext local to the switch for each office. This obviously causes a problem unless I also ask that they hit a callfwd/abbrv dial button prior to going to the 2nd office. The callfwd/abbrv dial would have the trunk tac code for the other switch with a pause and thier extension.

it's less about them recieving calls and more about when they make a call that it shows who they are.
If that's the case, just give them two different extension but make the name the same (or almost the same) in both.

Switch 1: Extension 1234 - Jones, John CEO (1)
Switch 2: Extension 4321 - Jones, John CEO (2)

This reminds me of a story someone told (bare with me, it's worth it). A EXE of a car dealership says he wants video conferencing on all of his phones in his dealership. When asked why, the story was as follows.

The EXE had called down to the shop to ask for a car. The gentleman on the other end responded "We only have one car left for the big jerk upstairs." The EXE was not very happy he responded, "Do you know who this is?" "Nope" said the gentleman. "This is the big jerk upstairs!" the EXE said. "Yeah? Well do you know who this is?" replied the gentleman. "No?" "Good!" and the gentleman hung up the phone.

Little out of context, but thought it was a fitting story.

Susan,
It might work but they would worry about the incorrect extension being displayed along with thier name. People with message manager might call them back at that 2nd number and leave a voicemail where they would never check.

I guess I could set the 2nd number up with cover path to thier original extension's voicemail. But would it ring again or go right to voicemail??

Create a new coverage path for the 2nd extension - 1 ring to the 1st extension, and then 3-4 rings (whatever your normal setting is) to Voicemail.

On the Audix side, use "cha sub 1234" (first extension). There is a field on the subscriber screen (lower left side) labeled "secondary extension". If you put the extension of the 2nd office in this field, then the messages will automatically go the the VM box of the first extension.

Hope this makes sense, let me know if you need an example.

THanks Susan, I'm going to present it to them along with IP softphone and let them figure it which is deemed the "least strenuous".
