We have a conference phone (analog). Of course when ever the need arises to use this phone, the area it is going to is digital.

My question is this:

Does any one know if there an adapter or device that I could plug in to a wall jack enable for a Meridian 2006, 2008, 2616, etc., that would temporarily provide analog connectivity for a conference phone, without changing anything configuration or settings on the PBX?

Any help or input is GREATLY appreciated!

Not sure but you can get an ATA for the M2000 phone, program it in the PBX. Then you can plug the Polycomm into the ATA when you need to use it.

It moves around all the time to different rooms. It is basically a rental unit for our staff.

How many rooms does it get moved to? I have 1 Polycom phone that moves between 4 rooms. I have left an active analog line in each of the rooms so it is plug and play. The beauty of this is the DN stays the same no matter which room it is plugged in. You just need to make sure you have sufficient TN's to allow for this.

We don't have the TN's left to do that. We have like 35 remaining (it's a hospital). That would be great if we could afford it. The people here are having meeting in different locations all the time. This all add to my dilemma.

Thanks though.

You can punch down a single analog TN to several jacks and have up to 6 phones ringing on the same line. That way it will be the same dn. just mark the jacks as polycom or conf, etc..
You will just be using one TN that way. of course you will only be able to have one meeting at a time this way also.

The only problem with that is that someone could go to one of the other jacks and listen in on the call. Just a heads up.

I work in the IT department at a hospital and these people do not sit still. They are always moving and having meetings in many different locations. I was just looking for a device to allow me to use an analog signal when plugged in to a digital port. There may be no such device. It was worth a try.

Thanks all!

I found the solution I was looking for with a little research...

Konexx Konference Audioconferencing Speakerphone Adapter

(Converts digital signal in to an analog signal)

Thanks for all the input!
