Will Euro 18D, MLS 12D and MLS phones work with IPO 7.0? We have potential customer looking to move from Partner to IPO and they would like to reuse their current phones.

Also, is the IPO a 1 pair system when it comes to digital phones?

TIA,

It supports the following handsets only in "Partner" mode:

· 1403, 1408 and 1416 Phones

· ETR 6, ETR 6D.

· ETR 18, ETR 18D.

· ETR 34D (Max 4 total. Max 2 per base card)

· Analog phones

Yes the IP Office is a 1 pair system, it isn't a "pretend" digital soultion that uses an analogue voice path with digital signalling (like some of the competition) :)

RYLSFAN,

Only the ETR Partner phones are supported on IPO Partner edition.
By the way, the partner MLS/ETR Phones are not digital! They are Enhanced Tip Ring analog phones.

I agree with Andy, why would anyone would want to keep those dated partner handsets?

Andre

It should be noted that using the partner phones with IPO partner version still require the same 4-wire - 2 pair connections. But the digital is single pair.

I think it funny that Avaya introduced the ETR card for the IPO but discontinued the Partner phones which sell for more refurbished than they did new now.

Personally it would have been cool to find a way for an ETR card to serve a digital phone when the customer is tired of buying used partner replacement phones.

Thanks for the replies. I thought the IPO was 1 pair, but i knew the older phones needed 2, that's what prompted my question.

I can't answer to why they would want to keep those phones other than a fancy sales brochure that says "retain investment"
by reusing your current phones...

I'm going to tell them no...
