DIGITAL LINE EXPANSION 2

CS1000 REL 3, Key code allows 336 Digital Ports. All digital ports are used. We want to increase digital ports by 400. Printing LUC shows 44 unused cards. If we were to expand, would it be as simple as getting a new keycode and adding digital line cards to the unused slots? Any info will be a great help....

yes - presumidly. Can you look in your IPE shelves physically? Should see some empty slots yo.

while you are at it, might want to LDIS in ld 32 and look for built, but disabled TNBs you can use now. if you have superloop 4,8,12 whatever
.ldis 4 0

will show you all the disabled tns on superloop 4 etc (if you didn't know that already)

I'm not sure you can get a keycode for Rel 3. We just came across the same thing needing to add a cabinet to an Option 11 on Rel 3 and add more licenses. Nortel said NOPE. You must upgrade because Rel 3 is MD.

Thnx guys for the info. There are some empty slots. Other slots are analog cards but no sets built on them. I will have to check to see about the key code thing. Thnx agaian!

Nortel just release a "special" limited time only that allow for simple keycode upgrade to MD switches...this applies to M1 on 25.40B or CS1000x on 3.0 and above without having to upgrade

this is only avail till 6/2009

Introduction
Nortel Networks is pleased to announce a limited time commercial offer to allow customers
to expand user software licenses on their Manufacturing Discontinued Software for CS1000
and Meridian 1 system. The program targets customer who require expansion to their
system but don’t wish to upgrade their system at this time. The bulletin contains information
outlining the offer’s system requirements, licenses availability, ordering process, limitations
and software releases.

Target Customers
The target customers have Meridian 1 and CS1000 products using Release 3.0 and
Release 25. This offer does not apply to software releases that are End of Life. Please
reference Bulletin – 2008-0069 Rev 01 – LCM Update Global.
Note – This offer is intended for simple user expansions only and doesn’t apply to complex
expansions that require new features, platforms or other system resources changes.
Customers needing a complex expansion will have to upgrade the system. A list of user
licenses eligible for expansion can be found below.

merchandise catalog only. The EC tool cannot to be used to quote hardware. Any additional
hardware will require a separate purchase order.
