Customer has G450 R016x.00.1.510.1 software. Two MM717 FW0014. About once a day, all phones on one or both digital cards freeze. They look okay, but have no dialtone. Analog board in same gateway still operational. Re-seating the boards resolves the issue. Have moved the boards to new slots, have swapped the boards, nothing resolves the issue. Latest patches have been applied.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head:

Does it happen to 1 board more then the other?

Does one board freeze, and if left frozen does the other board freeze or do they both freeze at the same time?

Are there any alarms on the system?

Check the cable between the board and the punch down blocks.

Check the punchdown blocks

Check phones, make sure they are all digital phones attached to the board.

Only digital phones on prem. Punch downs appear to be good. When the boards "freeze" the digital phones all appear normal, but have no dialtone and keypad / menu / all buttons are dead. When this happens, sometimes both digital boards are effected, sometimes just one of the two. Not always the same boards and again, have swapped and moved the boards to different slots. Firmware is latest. All patches have been applied. The only alarms seen are a couple of digital phones that they periodically unplug in common areas, lobby and board rooms, but unplugging phones should not cause the whole board to freeze.

did anyone find a solution or reason for this? how was it fixed? its happening in my system as well.

We ended up replacing the 450 gateway. No problems since.
