Do you Have to Have Digital Card in the Magix

That's a bit of an odd question, since the Magix is a digital PBX. But here goes...

The simple answer is NO, you do not HAVE to have any TDL modules in your Magix. I would recommend that you put a 412TDL board in slot #1 at minimum. TDL is the only circuit pack that supports Avaya digital sets.

The Magix also has a TR card to support ordinary cordless or home type phones. The ETR "Enhanced Tip/Ring" module is used to support Avaya Partner telephones.

An old plastic carrier Legend that has been upgraded is arguably a Magix (true Magix have steel carriers). And in that case, an MLX board can be introduced to support the Avaya MLX sets--technically ISDN phones.

UH.......What I Want to use ETR cards rather than Purchase
40 New Phones how Odd. UH.......What

Your first post made very little sense. Dagwood was nice enough to take a shot in the dark.

Yes you can use all ETR cards for extension modules but you will not be able to do system programming from a phone if that is all you have installed.

Bear in mind that the operation of the PARTNER phones is different on a Magix.

The Lights do not work quite the same, and the buttons do not "map" the same either.

The "mapping" can be "worked around", but it is a pain.

Yes, you can use an ETR Card with Partner sets, but be ready for a bit of a learning curve.
