Difficulties using Option Groups

I am trying to create an option group with 2 possibilities. Upon adding a new record, the user has to choose the option of "male" or "female", however upon choosing an option, everytime the user adds a new record the chosen option from the previous record carries over to the new record and stays that way throughout all the records.

My question is: How do I set it so that each time a new record is added, the "male" and "female" option is reset, and the chosen option does NOT carry over to the new record?

Any help with this would be GREATLY appriciated.

On the Properties of the Option group, set the default to the desired value e.g. 1 if you want male, if you want female.

Set the default value for the option group frame to 0. Assuming this frame is bound to a field in a table, open the table in design view and check the default value here also.
