Hi all,
Working on an IP office 500v2, R 8.1. I have a customer with (right now) 3 different incoming lines. 2 of them are 800 numbers, 1 is local. Working off a PRI (well, SIP to PRI handoff through an Adtran, but PRI as far as the Avaya is concerned). They are wanting the phones to show which number is dialed to get to them per call, if that makes sense. If someone called 800#A to get to them, have it show somehow that is was 800#A instead of 800#B or the local number. Failing that (or maybe in addition to that), have a different ringtone to indicate that 800#A was the dialed number to get to their office.
To throw a possible monkey wrench into the mix, there are actually 2 businesses working off that particular unit. The original company is easy. Keep their phones up and working, make a couple huntgroups, call it a day. But the original company leased out half of their area to a second company and the phones were already in place. Original company has 1 incoming number. So anything that works globally has to be able to turn off for the original business (honestly I don't know if they realize they are sharing the same system. I keep them separate with incoming call routes and different extension groups and outgoing dial number short codes, but they aren't segregated by phone like they probably should be I guess).
Bonus question: The second company is a pain in butt. They want a lot of extra service and only pay for phone lines from us right now (as opposed to the original company who gets the phone lines and computer/network/phone system services). Anyhow, among other headaches, they want a global speed dial. In the past, I've always just made short codes ( #01 dials John, #02 dials Ann, etc ). I've also done that in their case since the original company doesn't care about that ability so doesn't even know they could use them as well. The new company likes to change them up once a month or so, though, which costs me a bunch of data entry time that I could do without. Is there a way they can do that themselves outside of manager from the phones? Or any better options?
