Greetings...Do any of Win2k Workstation experts know if it is possible to have different TCP/IP settings for each logon account? Both accounts has admin rights and I tried to specify a DNS address under one account in hopes that change would not be available under the 2nd login account. No Luck. I am probably doing something wrong, but I cannot be sure that this is even possible under win 2k. The main reason I want this is to maintain specific TCP/IP settings that I need to VPN into my work network under a work related logon account. Then to have a "vanilla" TCP/IP configuration for my non-work related stuff.

The only other options I can think of is:

1) to have multiple boot options with one option being win98 (for work) and Win2k for at home.

2). Multiple Hardware profiles. I tried this and the network settings changed under one profile were still active under the 2nd profile. Again...I could be doing something wrong.

Any advice or direction would be appreciated.

are you trying to switch tcp/ip settings on the fly?? not sure i understand the ?.....if that is the case and you wish to switch tcp/ip settings on the fly to swap accounts so to speak.,,,,just go into your tcp/ip settings and switch them while in windows...win2k does NOT require you to reboot the machine after config changes to ur tcp/ip properties.....a client of mine (local casino) uses 4-5 domains....therefor to access the internet certain users need to (ip-hop) in order to make the internet connection happen....by simply changes their tcp/ip setting and whhaaallaa ...they r on the net....hope this has answered your ?....if not plz be more specific on what you want to happen....thanks...
