I am a consultant who has in the past learned new languages and systems "On-the-job". I have used various COBOL and other languages over the past 29 years. My most recent upgrade was to COBOL II in 1995. This was quite easily accomplished since most of the new feature of COBOL II were features I have wanted for years.

My question is: Does there exist a simple document that explains the differences between COBOL 370 and COBOL II?

I am tired of clients who believe you must attend a two week course in the subject before you can function.

Check out the IBM Web site <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> and search on COBOL, or go to the COBOL Homepage. They have an on-line Library that contains most of the current Redbooks and other manuals on bookmanager. you should be able to get the information there. Look for the Migration guides since these cover the differences.

Good Luck
         Greg
Greg Amos
<a href=mailto:amosgreg@ix(dot)netcom(dot)com replace(dot)>amosgreg@ix(dot)netcom(dot)com replace(dot)
