Hi,

I want to know what the main usage of TTI? How does it ease my system? also PSA.

Please. thanks alot.

Say you had 5 phones to move. You could move all the patch cords in the comms room, i.e swap all the ports about. This is long, complicated and the worst possible way to do it. Option 2 is to x-port the stations and then put in the port number of where you want the phone to be. interchange all the 5 port numbers and this moves all the phones to their new destination. Lateral thinking needed and a note of the before and after situations needed. Personally I use this method, but the third option is TTI. You use the TTI FAC to remove a station from the physical phone (think of it like a busy out command). This removes the port association with this station number. You do this for all 5 phones. You then TTI in the station number on the phone where you want that station to move to. So if you had extension 1234 and 2468 for example. You tti them both out. You then go to the phone that was 1234 and tti in with 2468. 2468 is now in this position and in the background the switch has moved the port to associate it with this station. Basically the same as option 2 that I mentioned. This method can get very confusing if you're moving a lot of phones about so I still recommend x-porting the stations, but everyone will have their own preferred method that they find easier etc.

TTI is for the Tech's doing a dept move. PSA is TTI for the users. Lets say that a employee only works 2 days a week. We have desks for when they are in the office. Using the PSA code with the sets security code ( password) they can sit at a desk for the 2 days. Another worker worker will occupy the desk on the other days etc. We like to call it warm bunking.

Hope this makes sense
