Difference between Firewall-1 and Firewall-1 NG

Can some one tell me the difference between Checkpoint's Firewall-1 and Firewall-1 NG. I am new at the security area and looking to take some classes in Checkpoint and wondering which one would be more beneficial.

NG is the current version, CP 4.1 (or CP2000) will soon no longer be developed. So take the NG courses
