Was browsing on my local parts shop webiste and saw these -X mobo's by Asus. They seem quite cheaper than the non -X mobo's yet they come with all the same features (not the same features of the Deluxe Model but the non deluxe non -X models) Does anybody know what the veriances are between these boards:?
Asus A7N8X
Asus A7N8X-x
I know the deluxe is decked to the nines with Raid and SATA but that's it...

The -X variant does not support dual channel ddr.

Yes this is the single channel Nforce2 chip designed to go after the cheaper end of the market where boards with the new Via KT600 are making a mark.
Nvidia are widening there sales base with this new offering.
Note* the performance differance is said to be minimal

Performance difference is not only minimal in some cases, but in other benchmarks, I've seen the single channel ddr nForce2 chipset outperforming the dual channel. There was a review on one of these boards at anandtech.com. Very thorough. Good board, I would pick it up.
