I'm somewhat of a newbie but can somebody tell me the differance between phantom's and system speed dials ?

a phantom is a soft phone that is used to redirect dial digits, used for diff apps when you don't need a phyiscal port to connect... i have some that are used for remote call forward, the user can change the forward dest from home, either send it to his mail, his home his pager at will. a station speed is a list of numbers that you can use from your hard phone, it lets a user create a 2 or 3 digit shortcut to any number.. i press ssc button + 01 to dial my home...

humm, one clarification is I mostly Have analog 2500/2554 sets, how does this effect them, as they user dials a 3 digit Number, i.e. 201, 202 Etc, if I remove one of the phantom numbers, and add a speedcall list, would I be able to remove the 14 phantoms, have one speedcall list where the user still dial 201, 202 from the analog set ?

depends on the config of your speed dials. is the 2xx range used for anything else?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
