My Front End DB was converted to access 2000 about 6 months ago. For reasons irrelavent to my current question, I was not able to convert the back end db so that remained access 97.

I am now ready to convert the back end to access 2000. I'm currious if I can expect to see any difference in performance (speed or otherwise) after I convert the back-end tables from access 97 to access 2000?

Intuitively I would think there would be but I wasn't sure. Like I said....no issue, just a question of curriosity.

I cannot give you figures, it is a while since I converted, but I remember I was very pleased with several improvements.

Thanks for your comments Remou,

I just received feedback from one of my users indicationg that everything appears so much faster. How much of that improvement is due to the upgrade to access 2000 of the backend vs the database compaction that occurs as well, I don't really know. I got to belive though that there had to be some additional interpretaion going on when your using Access 2K front end and an Access 97 back end so maybe there really is a noticable increase in speed as well.
