We have a handful of DID's that are in the 9xxx range, but we have also defined AC1 as "9". These DID's are POTS but will be moved to a PRI.

Outside of not being able to dial these DID's directly (4 digit dialing), will we have other issues once these are ported over to our Nortel CS1000e?

If you are porting the POTS over to PRI, just use the IDC tables.

like pronei said use IDC Table or you could have telco send other digts instead of 9xxx. I dial 222-9xxx but telco can send 3xxx.

If you do nothing except port them into your DID's on the PRI, anyone calling those numbers could be connected to an outside line. If the DNs are 90xx, then of course anyone calling will get the outside operator (or worse, ask them to place a call) at your expense. At a minimum, create the IDC table (create in LD49 and assign it in LD16 to the PRI route) so that:

IDGT 9
9 = 0

This way, calls to those numbers will transfer to your internal extension 0.

Another thing to think about is the CLID tables. If you use IDC to convert to 9xxx to an other number inside, say 3xxx, then you CANNOT use the DIDN = YES for 911 and Regular calls. You will have to build a custom CLID table for each phone and put the entire NXX-XXXX in the HLCL and ESA_HLCL prompts to get proper CLID on outbound calls.

Be careful with your 911 configs!

Do what I recommend to all my customers Tell the network folks to keep their 9xxx and 0xxx numbers. They love to sell those if they can Nobody with a pbx wants them for dids. You said only a handful Maybe this will work for you

Yes, I was wondering how hard I should push to dump them and just move the lines to new numbers. Sounds like dumping them is the best option.

Outside of anyone internal trying to use these numbers, and it's associated headaches and risks, would I still have a security issue on the inbound calls from Telco->PRI with simply ported DID's?

Is changing your AC1 an option?

I had a site where the users had issues with misdialing 911 so often that I just changed the AC1 to 8. Even after implementing a 911 notification set to security and security jumping all over the users, they still couldnt get it.

Klowndog, suggest you look at the E911 Misdial Prevention feature in 5.00 and 5.50
If this functionality is needed in 4.50 and earlier, the patch is MPLR20340. The vendor needs to open a GNTS ticket to get this, it is not Public View = YES in the ESPL Library.
