on the lcnt on the two trunks I am having issues with-
on loop 3 the LOSFA -002 OS_LOSFA -001

AND LOOP 45 LOSFA -002

Please make a loopback check on the cards and check if they are operating normaly first?

with that many frame losses ld 60 ssck 0.. and rcnt return

did you look at the lights on the switch.. when you stat x, you will see alarm levels.. and you need that loopback to determine if the trouble is inside or outside..

Out of service.... Call your carrier right now and have them start testing. The only reason that you would be the culprit is if your NIU/CSU is dark or RJ45 plugs are un-plugged at the D-Mark. Get moving on this!

I called the carrier early this morning at 7am- but they insisted it was not their equipment. 6 hours later, after they insisted I call in a vendor- they are now on site working with the vendor trying to get it resolved- on their end of course!!! How frustrating!!! Thank you everyone for your help- I do appreaciate it as always!!

in the future, build a loop back. that will let you test inhouse so you do not need to let the carrier run you in circles. or wait for the vendor..

your vendor can help with a loop back or at least show how to build one.. a search here will help with that..

pay attention to the lights. they will help determine where the trouble is as well..

standard practice when i find a pri down..

ld 60
stat 45
lcnt 45
rcnt 45

when you do the stat, note the dch number (channel 24)

ld 96
stat dch

dis dch xx auto

ld 60

disl 45

enll 45

you should see dta023... that tells you layer one is up..

45 seconds later you should see dch established.. 30 sec after stat 45 the channels will be up if the far end is clean..

if that does not clear the problem, plug in a loop back toward the switch and repeat all steps..

after the d comes up, you will see rls wrong mode. all lights will green up, then go yellow.

that tells me that my hardware is working and the trouble is between the loopback and the provider,,

John just gave you two of the best hints on trouble shooting a down circuit. It's a loop back plug and look at the lights.

Thanks John.

loopback on mdf not by software:
connect the pairs 23 and 24 together

okk tell us about the results

Morning guys- came in this morning to two shelves down and DTR lights burning--- brought the shelf back up- cleared the DTR lights- but now I am having problems throughout the entire facility with static on the phone lines????? what do I look at now????

Hey Natima, what the hair are you talking about. Pair 23 and 24 at the MDF? I thought is was pins 1, 2, 3, and 6.
So Probie, first it's the PRI. now you have shelf problem!? You have a system that needs a full power reset! Then you need to check for issues in commercial power and grounding. How is your system protected? UPS, Line Conditioner...
Something is wrong or has changed.

static is on ALL analog phone lines only-- I already changed out a couple of cards- did absolutely no good-- I am now at a complete loss

There is something common you will find, like all on one shelf, all on one controller, all in one network group, all on one something.

For example, when the customer says "everything is down" we always wonder how they are calling us :) In other words, the chances are there may be some lines without static - finding out what is different is the step I would be taking.

Probably talking about pairs 23 and 24 on an option 11. If you cable out with a 25 pair cable, those are the pairs you use to connect the T1. I guess it could be used on a CS1K also. I have had to use this configuration in an emergency outage situation.
