Ok. 8790, 8031, and 9870 are our main numbers that cannot change. We own DID numbers 7700-7719 but cannot seem to use all of them the way that I have this programmed. Can someone give me some advice to better program this? Our extensions are all three digit and I might be able to change them in order to get the DID numbers working properly.

I also have three more fax machines that I need to add (if possible). They are 1541, 3710, and 8956.

Please help!

Thanks,

Hi Jacob,

From your original post back in September, thread689-1274838, it does not look like anything in your system has changed.

Have you read the Legend/Magix System Planning Guide?

Having a thorough understanding of the System Numbering and Dial Plan would be in your best interest in solving your problem. Most default numbering in the system can be renumbered to something else, including setup space, but you have to understand what the results will be.

When changing DID numbers you need PLANNING AND COORDINATION both in your system and with the service provider. For example, if you were going to change your DID numbers, some providers will provide number referal services to intercept the old to new numbers, either by automated or actual operator methods for a period of time.

With some thought and planning you mite even use your auto attendant to do some intercepting and referal also, but with limitations. You need to understand the system better so you can take advantage of the features so they work for you.

Using remote desktop built into windows xp, or using the free VNC remote program to control a cheap workstation connected to the admin port of your magix is by far the cheapest way to do this.

Thanks for the input Jim. Like I said previously, I inherited this mess. It is all new to me. I will take your advice and read the System Planning Guide if I can find one.

I do think, however, that I've found the solution through kmefford's suggestion. As much as I don't want to have to go through the trouble of re-assigning extension numbers, I just might.

Even if you just reassign the fax extensions, it should free up enough entries in the routing table to get you what you need.

Jacob, you can download all the documents for the system from Avaya's website for free: support.avaya.com
