I am trying to install accounting software from our server to a workstation and I get the following error when doing so on one of my NT workstations:
The following files did not self-register or unregister:
C:\WINNT\System32\OLEAUT32.DLL
Access is denied

C:\WINNT\System32\STDOLE2.TLB
Error accessing the OLE registry
To continue, click OK; otherwise, click Cancel.

I can't get past it by clicking ok so I choose to cancel each time. I have other NT machines that worked without this error. I have also made sure this user is set up as an administrator to no avail.
Can anyone help???

I am getting exactly this same message. Did you ever find a work around?

No, unfortunately I didn't. What I did was continue to try installing and eventually it worked. Have no idea why because I didn't make any changes. Sorry I'm no more help.

We ended up having to re-install Windows XP and Windows XP SP1 before I could finally install the client software.
