Hi everyone,

I was setting some of the choices on Bios. And on one of the option I had 166 I change it to 200mhz. I have an Athlon 2800+ XP and I guess it suppose to run at 166 not 200. by changing to 200 what damage did I do to my PC.

Right now when I turn the PC My Monitor said it's disconnected. but it seems like the PC is going.

Doesn anyone have any good news for me?

Thanks

Reset cmos and all should return to the default settings. This depends on which motherboard you have.

I have a MSI K7N2 Delta. Reseting Bios by Taking the Battery off? Or there is another way?

Find the cmos reset jumper on the mother board. It will be noted in the mother board manual (the jumper is usually red). Short the jumper for a few seconds and then put it back. Or you can take the battery out for 10 seconds or so and the cmos should reset.

I must correct myself on my last post. You must remove the battery for about 10 minutes not 10 seconds. Sorry

Okay, I tried the jumpers, but still nothing. Should I try to change my video card?

I just notice, that when I turn my PC the Kb and mouse are not reconiced. I have an optical mouse and the ligth is not on.. so I don't know.

Setting the front side bus too high (200 instead of the default 166 that the Barton XP2.8+ needs) should just result in a non post.
So resetting the cmos as described should work but if not try reseating everything, particularly the memory and video card.

I assume your unplugging your computer from the wall outlet while the battery is disconnected?

Yes I unplug the cable while the battery is disconnected. Shouldn't be?
How do I reset my video and memory.. just unplug them and plug them back?

Reseat!! not reset :>) just pull out and push firmly back into place (graphics card, memory, the main power plug to motherboard etc) maybe 2-3 times to make sure of a good ellectrical contact, make sure they are fully home (seated all the way, especially the memory.

OKay, I reseat everything.. actually I took everything out mb everything and I just put it bback together and still nothing No video nothing it seems like the HD is going and all the lights of the CD rom and backup tape lightup.. No beeps at all.

This MB has something call D-Backet is a USB Backet integrating four Diagnostic LED's which use graphic signals display to help users understand the system. The Leds provide up to 16 combinations of signals to debug the system I getMemory Detenction test-Testing onboard memory size. The D-led will hang if the memory module is damage or not installed properly.

Well if the MB is damage It will not see the memory right. But if the MB is damage how come this D-bracket is working?
since is plug to the mb?

If this system also has onboard video try plugging the monitor into there. Resetting the bios will cause it to use the onboard as primary display output. If something like memory is bad you'll get a beep code. If the processor is burnt it won't appear to boot, as in no hard drive activity.

I have the kt6 delta and had the same problem with my 2600+ t-bred. Your system will shut down before you fry your chip. What I did in that case because I had the same problem is make sure it is unplugged because there is still power going to bios. Unplug, pop out battery and reset cmos with the green jumper. I think its behind the fan plug by the SATA. Leave it for about an hour. It worked for me. Also when you raise the fsb lower your multiplier.
