Did everyone have newbie troubles? 2

OR JUST ME?
I just graduated from college with BSBA in CIS and Finance and started a job in (in the financial department) for a Health Services Firm. I specifically told them in the interview that I did not want to be the "Solo" provider of all IT knowledge (mainly, and honestly because I'm not fully confident in my abilites) Well, here I am, 1 month into my job and they want me to be the answer to all thier IT problems. Wanting me to program thier way to success, and I don't think I can do it. Most questions they ask me I have to get back to them in a few days, not immediatly like they want. I feel like college just didn't give me enough education, or something... am I retarted, or did all newbies feel the strain of entering the "Real World"? How did you deal with it?

It sounds you're in a tough situation. First you should do drafting, then bookkeeping (may be the wrong word for it, but English is not my native language) when you're a programmer.

To put it very mildly, this is not very motivating...

I wish you a lot of success to stick to your profession.

You're not in a plesant situation right now...
Can you tell your boss that this is not the job you thought it would be? If your contract says you're a programmer, I would refer it while talking to your boss. If he (or she) doesn't want you to do programming anymore I would start looking for another job. Maybe it's just temporary... of maybe your boss is just too lazy to find someone else to do the excel stuff and thought that the company didn't need a programmer anymore...
