Hello, got a weird problem on a mics 6.1 with a version 4 fiber nam. 30 digital sets and a 23 channel pri. This system has been working perfectly for the last 7 years. Now whenever you call any user's did the AA answers with the main greeting instead of the user's mailbox personal greeting. The AA main greeting answers all did calls on 4 rings even though it's only programed to answer line 157 (the main number). Tried changing Cfna number of rings, setting Cfby and forward all and AA still answers. No night or other services programed on this system. Moved nam fiber connector to different port on combo card and changed Cfna destination, same result. Power cycle mics and nam no help. Any and all input greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance - Lanny

In my experiences with PRI, I think you may want to look at the digits being sent and your programming on the DID lines. It appears that the system is not sure what to do with these calls so it's routing where it can answered. 4-digit or 7-digit DID numbers set up in lines, then ring only to the extensions.

thinkin nam was supposed to be 4.1 not 4.0

Many thanks for the quick responses guys, it really helps when the company and customers are on your case to fix every problem fast.
Curly - the vm dn is 4548 and I've got 4548 set as the destination in Terminals and Sets Cfna with a 4 ring delay. Thanks for mentioning touch tone gate - I'll check that when I go back to the site on Monday.
There's been no change of carriers - all the programed dids ring the correct extension 4 times then are answered by the AA instead of the user's personal mailbox. This just began happening this week.
If TT Gate is set correctly I'm thinking about doing a re-install - any thoughts on re-install correcting this weird problem?

If your at 4.0 on vm i would upgrade to 4.1.Nortel issues on unsupported software where not always drop dead issues and i have had unsupported vm's work without a glitch but doesnt mean it would not happen.

Thanks luv2ski - just double checked and the nam is a 4.1. Any thoughts on re-install correcting this?

Sounds to me like you've lost your "Redirect DNS" patch. maybe reinstalling would help. A lot quicker and easier than resetting the voice mail.

Thanks again - scheduled to go to site Tuesday instead of today. Will attempt to clear trouble again, do a re-install if necessary and post back - Lanny.

Many thanks for the patch, very generous - in my haste though i failed to see it. Had my company's vendor send over the patch and loaded it yesterday but problem did not clear. Performed reinstall and trouble still persists. Beginning to wonder if this problem could be related to flaky 6.1 i.c.s. software as mentioned by Marv. I've got a good working unused call pilot 100 at the office that I'm planning to take to the customer site to test with. Any more suggestions? Mighty grateful.

Still sounds like the classic redirect issue.

Log into F983 then press 8 and see if Redirect DN setting is there and turned ON.

Another way is via Norstar Voicemail Manager software via the Network port on the NAM.

Try my download above and install again in case bad patch and or did not correctly install to NAM....make sure you get those 2 beeps.

Maybe the hard drive is corrupted and why it lost the redirect setting, you would need to purchase a 4.1 image or sent the NAM in but Callpilot is recommended anyway, all based on amount of mailboxes vs money.

Thanks curly - the nam crashed last night, hard drive is clacking and won't boot up. Installed spare call pilot 100 this morning temporarily and it works 100%. Customer has agreed to purchase new call pilot. Many thanks to everyone for support - Lanny
