DID Announcement

Dear All,

i'm having a problem at one of my client site. he has DID range with some of them not assigned and wanted the caller to hear an announcement saying that this number is not a valid number.

i simply went to the DID/ISDN intercept Treatment and added an announcement XXXX

the issue is that when i dial from outside to one of the unassigned numbers it only keeps ringing and from the trace side
Ring announcement XXXX

the announcement is working internally fine but when dialed from outside is just Ring

can someone help ???

 
Hardware platform? Definity/CM software version?

For it to work, the number range must not be assigned in the dialplan analysis or uniform dial plan

if its not in the dialplan, how am i going to add an announcement with this number

when i try it gives an error "Extension invalid; please check dialplan

there's something missing

now the announcement has to be assigned to a number
the number has to be on the dialplan

even in the system feature
DID/Tie/ISDN/SIP Intercept Treatment: 68718

if i tried to put a number it has to be in the dialplan

am i right ??

 
My examples cannot possibly match your dialplan

1. assign a valid extension to the announcement, it does not have to be a DID number.
2. record the announcement. Example: "You have reached a non-working number at ACME CORP INC."
3. numbers that are not valid in the dialplan, with a working extension, uniform dialplan extension. When called
from a working extension get a busy.
4. numbers that meet the criteria in 3 above, will be routed to the intercept announcement extension if called from outside
the pbx because of the DID/Tie/ISDN/SIP Intercept Treatment: attd or annc extension
