DIB Lock Problem

We've got a server running Netware 6.5 sp6, eDir v8.7.3.9 and are experiencing hang problems. I've got the Netware Monitoring tool (NWMON.NLM) running. Among other things it provides DIB Lock information. Whenever we experience a hang, the utility shows we have several writers (20+) and the Thread ID shown is usually for the server.nlm.

I'm not sure it's related, but NDPS always seems to become unresponsive. My guess is that it is an effect of the DIB lock issue and not the cause. We don't see any other issues, i.e. CPU utilization is okay, Total Threads is not excessive, etc.

The only way to resolve the issue is to re-boot. The problem may come back within hours or we may go a few months. I'm not able to find anything that addresses this issue and I'm hoping someone has some suggestions on how to get this resolved. Thanks.

As crazy as this sounds, I would at least set the following:

Set client file caching enabled=off
set level 2 oplocks enabled=off

Also what's holding you back from putting SP8 on there? SP6 is old.

Thank you for your reply, Marv. However, we already had those to settings in place. I'll work on getting SP8 applied.

It could be a specific problem with the NDPS modules you're running. Try patching and check for any post SP8 patches for IPRINT/NDPS
