I had upgraded our BC10 TO BC12. Some problems arise after the upgrade. The diavox which we were using for the voice mail functionality was DOS baised and with serial integration. Now there shows some error. While I dial 700 (group number) earlier it promt me for entering the password. Now this is not happening. I am getting this in the serial processor trace as "Framing error in port 2",packet not received from port2. Error alternate p-code instruction.But I can do this way - dial the group700 and press # 'Welcome to diavox ......, please enter your extension... then password... then hear and delete.....
Any body faced this problem / there is any set up required for this?

Please help.

do you use ICU or changed to NIU2 port?
please print and post ICFUP;

jaylek!

We are servicing quite a few VMX voice mail servers (VMX/OCTEL/LUCENT/AVAYA) and we are always keeping the ICU/ICU2 board for this integration.
The reason was years ago the lack of quality of the NIU board, that now has improwed much.
But our engineer seem to remember to re-use the old interface boards like ICU/ICU2, because of the stability.
This also goes for the SIU board (SMDR).

Did you swap from ICU to NIU2 ?

I am using NIU2. Ealier we used NIU.

To be able to help more - even on a Sunday,
I also need the IODDP;, IONPP; IOIFP; and IONCP;

Your system will never be able to light up MEW lamps.
since "MESSAGE WAITING FUNCTIONALITY IS NONE".
You will need to set it to ALL by: ICFUC:MWF=ALL;

doktor

you have some odd looking port numbers there in the vmpop command, make sure they correspond, so port 1 on your VM system should be marked as port 1 in the md110 (and not 701)

Hai,
I had changed some setup and the latest print is attached. Please note that with the old setup we were able to use the voicemail function with BC10. Now the system is BC12. We are using Diavox DOS based voice mail.

i advice you to use IFCIND=1 , it's a dump answer but i'm sure it will work,
also in IOEQI don't specify the baudrate and parity and the default setting will be OK for you.

IOEQI:IODEV=NIUVM,EQU=1-xx-xx-xx,USAGE=OUT;
ICFUI:IFCIND=1,.... and complete the rest.

because when you update the channel it will not respond due to a bug in BC12 has been corrected in SP5 and higher.
cheers

The problem is solved. The system is working fine.
Yhanks for all the answers.

Thanks for all the answers.

I think, the best way is catch communication between MD and PC.
Use Telix or Procomm for DOS, or Hyperterminal for Windows, minicom for Linux.
If you dial directly Voice Mail, you should get string
STX82XXXXXZZZ
where STX is ASCII 02,82 is direct internal call, XXXXX 5 digits extension number (ICFUI:DFMT) and ZZZ is 3 digits port number (VMFUI:pOFMT)
This is the way from MD to VM.

Way from VM to MD you can test with string:
CTRL-B 06XXXXXYY CTRL-M CTRL-J
where CTRL-B is STX
06 MEW LED on or 07 for MEW LED off
XXXXX extension number
ZZ system number
CTRL-M CTRL-J is CR LF
