Happy New Year!
I have Adobe 7.0 and It keeps disappearing!
I have to constantly reinstall. When I do, I works for a while, where
I am able to view .Pdfs but then It stops functioning!
I do virus scans every two hours and check for spyware daily.
Any thoughts????

Thanks,
Jack

Are there any 'Application' or 'System' errors (relating to Acrobat Reader 7.0 or Windows Installer) in the 'Event Viewer' (Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer) when you try to run it?

Well,
There are plenty of errors in that area.
They all direct to a microsoft site . . . GOOD LUCK!

Thanks,
Jack

Is it Acrobat Reader or "Writer".

If reader, check you don't have an older version installed. It used to be a problem with 5 and 6. It was a cracking bit of software disign were when upgrading you could end up with 2 or three copies on your machine. I've seen machine with 4, 5 and 6 installed !

Try the following to narrow the search down.

1) Open Event Viewer.
2) Select 'Application'.
3) Click on the 'View' button in the menu bar.
4) Select the 'Filter...' option.
5) Drag the new 'Application Properties' window to one side so you can see the results of each filter.
6) De-select all the checkboxes except 'Error' and 'Warning' in the 'Event' types area.
7) Change the 'Event source' dropdown from 'All' to 'Application error' then click on the 'Apply' button to see the result of the filter.
8) Change the 'Event source' dropdown to 'Application Management' and 'Apply'.
9) Change the 'Event source' dropdown to 'MsiInstaller' and 'Apply'.

If the filtered results from steps 7-9 produce results then you need to look at the 'Description' of each of the errors to see if there is any mention of Acrobat Reader or the MSI installer.

Alternatively, do 1-6 above so only the problems show then select 'Export List...' in the 'Action' menu and save the results to a text file then copy/paste it here. Perhaps someone here may spot something.
