Dialling out with Extension number 1

Hi, We have a Mitel 3300MX 9.0.1.17

When making an outgoing call we use "Digit Modification Assignment" to add in the extension number using {<E>} in the "Digits to be Inserted". Our trunks detect this and we get Extension Billing from this. Calls connect fine.

However when an extension or direct dial is call forwarded to an external destination it fails as the Mitel does not have an extension number. The trunks do need to see an extension number to bill against.

Is it possible to add a default extension number to the system or alternatively change the route assignment used by the system when it is making an external call?

Try this. Instead of CFA use CFNA to the external number. If that works and if this is to be a semi-permanent solution, change the CFNA timer in CLOS to about 7 seconds for those numbers externally forwarded.

I cannot guarantee this will work, but is worth a try.

You may have to use a different ARS access code for forwarding but shouldn't be too difficult.

Set up the alternate route to use a digit mod that uses <A> instead of <E>. The <A> represents a system account code.

Thanks very much for the responses.

Will use a different ars code for speedcalls and when people need to divert. We also use Call Rerouting and Night Mode so that is ideal.
