Hi all
I'm quite new to the DEFINITY, the guy
who looks after our phone switch is away.
I have some 17-digit numbers that aren't dialling
through the switch, I can dial them fine from my mobile.
Can someone please instruct me as to how
I can change the routing, maybe something to do with the
ARS table, including commands - would really appreciated.

Please help, I have people on my back.

on the console do a "list trace station xxxx" where xxxx is your own phone number.
Then call one of the numbers you have an issue with.
The screen output will probably tell you the object that blocked your call.
This issue can have several causes.
The most likely is a Class of restriction, in which case you need to modify the restriction level.
Another reason can be that these numbers do not match the routing patterns.
You can look at what route the calls take by issuing the "li ars route chosen xxxxxx" where xxxxx is the dialed number.

Hi there, I don't seem to have the trace option
after list. I'm using quite an old version I think.
I've found out from a colleague that our phone switch
guy added a similar number to the ARS digital analysis table.
Please can you tell me how I would go about doing this, idots guide instruction.
Thanks for all your help and such a speedy response.
Kevin

Try the following on the PBX.
list ars route 1800xxxxxxx..(the number you are trying to dial). The response will be how the PBX deals with that call. Check for the "route pattern". If it's a "p1" or "p2" etc... you would do "disp part 1 or 2" depending on the above response. If the above response was a simple "2", "3" etc...then you would do a disp route 2 or 3. If the response is "deny" then you will need to "cha ars ana xxxxxxxxxxxxx (the number you are calling)
