Hi All,

I have an IP406 v2 R5.0(8).

We are in an area (USA) where a local call is made using a 10 digit number. long distance calls require a 1 + 10 digits. Is theere a way to setup dialing rules so that the IPO knows not to include the 1 in the call logs for certain area codes? At the moment, I cannot call back local nubers without manually dialing because the IPO automatically places a 1 before the number. I realise that I can remove the 1 but then the long distance numbers will not dial.

Any way around this? Thanks.

sure you can do it in your ARS. like this

1781N;
Dial
781N
Line out.

Setup an ARS record as follows

Example: 404 area code, 312, 313, 314 local exchanges

Match: 1404312N
Dial: 404312N

Match: 1404313N
Dial: 404312N

Match: 1404314N
Dial: 404312N

Strange, I opened the ARS entered the following, called in from a umber on that area code, looked up the call in the phone log and hit call back but got the same.

Code: 1770N;
Feature: Dial
Telephone Number: 770N
Line Group: 0 (correct one)
Locale: United States.

What am I missing?

Thanks for the help fellas.

Do you have any user short codes directing you to different ARS or out the Trunk with no ARS>. what does your 9N code point to.

Try using System Status to see what digits are being sent to the line.

Click on the trunk you're using to call out on and then click trace all.

In my Main ARS table I have the following,

ON; ON Dial 3K1 0 (line group)
1N; 1N Dial 3K1 0
N; N Dial 3K1 0
xxxxxxxxxxxN N Dial 3K1 0

and my new one;

1770N; 770N Dial 0

Cheers.

i usually remove the xxxxxxxxxN code.

Indeed, the xxxxxxxxn shortcode will dial out the instant you hit the amount of x's in digits as it is seen as a more exact match than a plain N shortcode, so this will be matching and dialling the 1 at the beginning I reckon :)

So, I deleted the xxxxxxxxxN code saved the profile and merged but still the same result.
