We currently set up short codes for clients that use one-x and don't want to dial a 9 over a PRI / SIP Trunks with one of two setup's. One is to create just a simple short code of:
Code ? / Feature Dial / Telephone Number . / Line Group ID x
or
Code 1 through 9 each of:
Code 1XXXXXXXXX / Feature Dial / Telephone Number 1N / Line Group ID x

One or the other of these works fine for us on PRI/SIP lines. I do not have an analog line in my demo system and am wondering if anyone has used either of these two methods, or any other method, successfully in being able to dial out on an IP500v2 / Essential Edition / without a 9 (or any other dial out code) on an analog phone line. We want our client to just be able to pick up a phone and dial an outside line. I cannot do Auto Line Selection on an IPO / Essential Edition as far as I've been able to find.

Thank you.

If you don't need access to any internal services (i.e. outside calls only) use ?D/N/50 (or whatever your ARS is). Or, if there will never be a conflict with internal numbering, you could use ?/./50 (or whatever your ARS is)

So that is the short code we use, but I have only done it on PRI and SIP trunks. You don't think it makes a difference for analog lines?
